This is the daily journal of our trip to Fehmarn, Germany
as recorded by Judy Kostick Cummings,
sister of John S. Kostick

This is our fifth trip to the Island of Fehmarn.  This year’s trip included a 3-day Holiday in London, England before we started on our genealogical search for more information to benefit this website.

I would like to thank the following people on Fehmarn and in the States for making our trip very enjoyable and a wonderful success.

Pastor Jaeger and Mrs. Schuldt for their assistance at the Petersdorf Church.

Karl-Wilhelm Klahn and Heino Kuhl for their help at the Burg City Archives.

Mrs. Muller and Mr. Schmotz for their help at the Neustadt Achives.

Roy Harmon of Iowa, for his gracious invitation to dinner and the pleasure of his company.

Johannes Detlef, for his interest in John's work and his gift of 2 local Island Cookbooks, written by his wife.

Gerd Hagenah, for meeting with us and explaining the history of the migration from Holstein to America.

Annemarie Reissen, who invited us into her home for an enjoyable afternoon of friendship and comparing of genealogical research on the Reissen family.

and a very special thank you to

Peter and Margit Seyer

for their friendship and mutual interest in the Fehmarn database.

Thanks for the wonderful dinner and for teaching us new things about our favorite Island.
