FEHMARN RESEARCHER

Ms. Melitta Mull-Ehler, a genealogist, lives on the Island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea, an island which belongs to the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.  she has access to the villages of Burg, Bannesdorf, Landkirchen, and Petersdorf whose birth, marriage and death records go back to the early sixteen hundreds. Her rate is only 10 DM an hour.

Her address is: Wiesenweg 2, D-23769 Petersdorf, Westfehmarn, Germany

I have meet with Ms. Melittle Mull-Ehler, who works at the archive in Neustadt and I highly recommend her as an excellent researcher of the Fehmarn church books. She has often helped me with things that are to difficult for me.  She is also an excellent choice for looking up in records that are not available her on microfilm, John (website owner)

The following translator of old German script, Else Bügge-Wood was born on Fehmarn. She is very familiar with the Fehmarn records and is the official translator for this website.

I know Else Bügge-Wood, she is an excellent and honest translator, and I have personally used her more than a dozen times for this web site.  Much of the material you are able to read here is the translations of Else, John (website owner)

Kathleen Toal has volunteered as a contact person for research enquiries on ancestors who emigrated to Australia.  She would be happy to look up indexes or lists readily available and/or advise on further research contact points.
